Why Passive Income is a Myth - And How You Can REALLY Make Money Online

Have you ever won the lottery or did you grow up with a silver spoon? 

I didn't. And I'm assuming you didn't either. 

Now, I hate to break it to you, but easy money is a lie. 

Making money is like climbing a ladder. If you want to get to the top, you got to go up the steps. And maybe if you have longer legs, like a good network or more experienced, you may be able to skip a step here and there, but you can't magically float to the top.

And a lot of times when I hear people talk about passive income, they seem to be talking about this quick, magical way to make money without any or very little work. 

They talk about getting to the top without going up the steps. 

But the hard truth is, there's no such thing as passive income. 

But don't get too discouraged!

There is light at the end of the tunnel, and I'll explain how you can make good money without winning the lottery or eating from a silver spoon. But by putting in the work and going up the ladder step by step. 

Most Common Passive Income Sources

But first, let's talk a bit about what is considered passive income.

It’s basically regular earnings you have that doesn’t require work. And even though there may be a point where your business will be making recurring revenue without your involvement, it is definitely not a quick or easy process.

So let’s go through the most popular ways to make passive income. 

Affiliate Marketing

Now, this sounds dreamy, right? Everything is done for you. All you have to do is get people to buy this thing with your affiliate link. 

Well, you'll soon come to find that selling is not as easy as you might think. Affiliate marketing is great, and it is definitely a way to make money - as long as you have a huge audience to sell to.

Not only that, an audience of people who trust you. So before you can make good money from affiliate marketing, you need to first build an audience and then build authority. And I hate to break it to you, but they each come with their own set of steps. 

Selling courses or templates

Again, another great way to make money. I've done it. 

And because I've done it, I can tell you it takes a lot of work. And I'm not only talking about building the products, which definitely is a lot of work on its own, but also promoting them. It is not a set it and forget it kind of thing. 

It's constant marketing, putting it out there, making sure people know about it and trust it enough to invest.

Safe to say that one is a tall ladder to climb. 

Influencer Marketing

You may be looking at all those lush accounts online where it looks like people are living the dream. Traveling everywhere. Living off sponsorships. 

Well, what you see is what they want you to see. Content creation is a huge amount of work, extremely time consuming and without a team it's exhausting. 

In my experience, it is the fastest way to burn out. 

And again, it's not as simple as creating an Instagram account or a YouTube channel, and you simply start posting. 

• You need to build an audience.
• You need to build trust. 
• You need to find sponsors. 

And you probably know what I'm going to say, right? It takes hard work and you have to go up the steps.

I'm not saying those aren't legit ways to make extra money. They are. 

They're just not passive. Especially not for beginners, without a massive audience. You got to put in the work to build the followers, subscribers, and viewers. 

The Best Way to Make Money Online

But here's the good news. You can still make money online without having a big audience. My best advice is to learn a skill that solves a problem.

In my experience, this is the most reliable and sustainable way to work online. There are a lot of get-rich-quick schemes out there, and I promise you, they do not work. At least not long term.
