Donna’s work has always been deeply intuitive. As an astrologer, she combines natal chart readings with crystals and shamanic healing to support areas where insight or balance may be missing.
It’s personal, meaningful work - but for a long time, it wasn’t easy for people to find her online.
Although she officially started her astrology business in 2021, the idea of building a strong digital presence felt overwhelming.
“I felt like I was on a boat in the middle of a river,” Donna says. “I didn’t really know what was going on out there with technology.”
When Donna joined the cohort, she wasn’t trying to overhaul everything - she was looking for clarity.
“I joined because I thought it could lead me to what my website was missing, so I could reach people better,” she says.
Before the program, she hadn’t spent much time learning about the technical side of digital visibility.
“I had seen people posting reels and things like that,” she explains, “but not the technical aspects - like tags, alt text, or making sure things were where they were supposed to be.”
The cohort gave her a way to learn those skills in a structured, approachable way - without feeling overwhelmed.
One of the biggest impacts of the program showed up in Donna’s inbox.
“People started reaching out, and I’d ask, ‘How did you find me?’” she says. “They told me it was because my SEO was working.”
Learning how search engine optimization works - and how to apply it correctly - helped Donna start showing up in search results and being discovered by new clients organically.
It was tangible proof that the time she spent learning and implementing what the program taught her was working.
Beyond SEO, the cohort helped Donna gain confidence by giving her process - especially around content and consistency.
“I really liked learning how to get a process in place, especially for social posts,” she says. “That structure gave me confidence.”
Rather than guessing what to do or when to do it, Donna learned how to maintain a digital presence in a way that fit her schedule and energy.
She also appreciated the flexibility of the learning experience.
“There really weren’t any challenges,” she says. “Everything was easy to follow, and I could pick and choose what I needed.”
From the start, Donna felt supported.
“I’ve felt supported since the moment I joined GeekPack,” she says. “I really enjoy the free flow of information and the support within the group.”
For her, the most valuable part of the cohort was accountability.
“It helped me continue with what I wanted to do,” she explains. “And it fit into my schedule. It was very flexible.”
When asked what advice she’d give someone who wants to learn a new skill or move forward in their business, Donna doesn’t hesitate:
“Show up,” she says. “If you want to do something, you’ve got to get your toes on the start line.”
As for the future of her astrology business?
“It looks like it could very well grow,” Donna says - now that she has the tools, confidence, and visibility to support it.
Can you share a quick overview of your business?
My business is astrology. I also use crystals and shamanic healing to support what might be missing or unbalanced in the natal chart.
How long have you been in business or worked in this role?
I've been offering healing work for a while, but officially started my astrology business in 2021. I actually got my logo through GeekPack, and it happened on the day Venus moved into my 10th house—which is all about career. That was a sign, and it really tipped me over into making it a business.
What problems were you looking to solve by signing up for the GeekPack + Verizon Cohort?
I joined the cohort because I wanted to figure out what my website might be missing so I could reach people better. I was also drawn to the community and wanted to stay in touch with what kinds of technology and tools were out there—because I honestly felt like I was on a boat in the middle of a river with no oars. I didn’t have much awareness of what was happening in the tech space.
Have you tried to learn about improving your digital presence before?
Not really. I had seen people using tools like reels, but I didn’t know much about the technical aspects—like tags, alt text, or how to optimize things behind the scenes.
Have you seen any tangible returns (more money, more customers, client feedback) from implementing what you learned?
Yes. I’ve had people reach out and I’m like, “How did you find me?” And they’ve said it was because my SEO was working. So what I learned about search engine optimization really helped me be found.
Do you feel more confident with digital skills for your business than you did before?
I do. I really liked learning how to create a process for things like social posts. That structure gave me confidence to keep things moving and maintain a digital presence.
What were your biggest challenges during the cohort or with the courses?
Honestly, I didn’t have any challenges. Everything was easy to navigate and I was able to get the teaching I wanted. I appreciated that I could pick and choose the topics that were most helpful.
What else would benefit your business for you to learn?
Right now, I don’t have anything in particular—but that could change in 10 minutes. Technology is moving so fast, so I try to stay aware. I don’t want to build too much of my business around AI because I think it lacks intuition. And intuition is essential in the work I do, especially with astrology.
Did you feel supported when going through the Digital Ready courses and being part of the GeekPack cohort community?
I’ve felt supported since the moment I joined GeekPack. I really enjoy the free flow of information and the sense of community. There’s always help when you need it.
Did joining the GeekPack cohort help with your progress in the Digital Ready courses?
Absolutely. It helped me start strong and keep going. I learned how important it is to maintain a consistent presence and build a schedule that supports that.
What was your most impactful takeaway from your time in the GeekPack cohort?
Learning how and when to post, and where to post. I had so much information in my head, and I wasn’t sure how to put it together. The cohort helped me organize and apply it in a practical way.
In your opinion, what is the most valuable part of being in the Cohort?
Accountability. I was able to keep up with what I wanted to do, and the flexibility of the program made it easy to fit into my schedule.
What's your number one tip for someone who wants to learn a new skill or move forward in their business?
Show up. If you want to do something, you need to get your toes on the start line.
What does the future look like for your business?
It looks promising. It could definitely grow based on the work I’m doing.
