https://shewearsmanyhatsstl.com/From "toying with the idea" to pitching, demoing, and closing - all in a matter of weeks.
"Because of the structure, I did go out and start pitching - and I closed my first deal."
The business idea had been sitting in Mindy's head for a while. She knew the niche. She knew the clients. She just hadn't pulled the trigger.
Then she attended GeekPack's CEO Day.
"Because of CEO Day, I registered my business almost immediately after. I had been toying with the idea and just hadn't registered it yet."
That registration was the starting gun. What came next - pitching, demoing, and closing her first client - happened faster than she expected.
Mindy's business is unlike most. As an independent car dealership consultant, she helps independent dealerships access the same operational advantages that franchise dealerships have.
It's a specific problem, a specific market, and a service most independent dealers didn't know they could have. She knew it was right. She just needed the structure to go after it.
When the 6 Revenue Moves in 6 Weeks cohort opened up, Mindy recognized exactly what she needed.
"Julia had a fantastic idea of how to break down revenue daily, weekly, and monthly. I jumped in for the experience - and also the accountability. I really needed the accountability to stay focused on my business because it's so new and I have all this free time, and I need to direct my free time in the right way."
She wasn't worried about knowing her market. She was worried about doing the work of actually going after it. There's a difference - and the cohort helped her close the gap.
One insight from Julia landed harder than Mindy expected:
"Julia mentioned that we hide behind learning. And that hit home."
It was exactly what she'd been doing - staying busy with research, with planning, with anything that kept her from the uncomfortable act of actually pitching.
So she got creative about getting out of her own way. She scheduled a blood donation appointment specifically because she knew it would get her out of the house - and once she was out, she'd go pitch dealerships.
"I set an appointment to donate blood. I was like, if I get out of the house and donate blood, then I will be out - and then I can go pitch dealerships. So that's exactly what I did."
It’s brilliant. And it worked.
The program gave her more than motivation. It gave her a framework for exactly what to say when she walked into a dealership.
"The program helped me just make sure that I'm saying the right things when I enter into a dealership."
Before the cohort, she'd been overconfident and underlaunched - certain she knew her clients, but too hesitant to prove it. The structure changed that.
She also found a piece of software that car dealerships need - one that pays her a commission - and started using it as a natural entry point for conversations before pitching her consulting program.
The clarity map from the program helped her see clearly where her time was actually going. She'd been volunteering teaching Spanish classes - something she loved, but that wasn't moving her business forward.
"I realized because I was identifying my time and what I was spending it on that I really needed to stop doing that for now so that I can actually build revenue. Because I do still have to pay my bills."
Two weeks after she first started pitching, she'd done three demos. Then, on a Tuesday:
She closed her first deal.
The program also pushed her into adopting AI in a real way. Julia's ready-made prompts made it approachable from day one.
"She made it so easy - we literally could just copy and paste. So I got started with that, and then as I saw how cool and efficient it really seemed, I started using it for everything."
She's since used Claude to write her operations agreement, create invoices, and handle other business documents - tasks that used to feel like obstacles.
The office hours were where the program came alive for Mindy.
"The office hours were phenomenal because we could hear what other small business owners - completely different industries, completely different niches - are struggling with the same problems. Businesses that have been in business for 10 years still sometimes struggle with follow-up or when to follow up."
That reminder - that it's not just her, that even experienced business owners wrestle with the same things - was grounding in exactly the right way.
Of everything she gained from the cohort, the clarity map stands out as the one that will keep giving.
"Every day looks different, every week looks different - the things I've accomplished, the decisions I've made. For me to be able to go back to the clarity map in six months or even a year and see what I've done, or the decisions I've changed or kept, is going to be really beneficial."
It's not just a planning tool. It's a record of her own growth.
Mindy is clear on where she's headed.
"I'm manifesting 20K in revenue before the end of the year."
She registered a business. She pushed through the fear of pitching. She closed her first deal. The momentum is real - and she's just getting started.

Can you share a quick overview of your business and what you do?
Because of GeekPack CEO Day, I registered my business almost immediately after - I had been toying with the idea and just hadn't registered it yet. I am an independent car dealership consultant. I seek to help independent car dealerships have the benefits of a franchise dealership without having the cost of a full-time CEO.
What problems were you looking to solve when you signed up for the cohort?
Julia had a fantastic idea of how to break down revenue daily, weekly, and monthly. I jumped in for the experience and also the accountability. I really needed the accountability to stay focused on my business because it's so new and I have all this free time, and I need to direct my free time in the right way.
Had you tried a structured approach to revenue generation before - reach, pipeline, pricing - and if so, what was different this time?
I had not started pitching yet. I was a little scared, even though I felt overconfident - I was like, "Oh, I know my clients already, it's going to be fine." But the cohort helped me just make sure that I'm saying the right things when I enter into a dealership.
Have you seen any tangible returns - more money, more customers, client feedback - from what you've implemented?
Because of the structure, I did go out and start pitching. Two weeks ago I walked into a dealership and it went really well. And because of all of my focus and everything I've been doing over the last couple of months, I found a software that car dealerships need that will also pay me a commission. I'm using that to lead my conversations and then pitch my program afterwards.
Are there any specific tools or AI you started using because of the cohort?
I had started with Gemini literally just because it was on my phone. Going through the cohort, Julia mentions Claude a lot and she had written some prompts for us - she made it so easy, we literally could just copy and paste. So I got started with that, and as I saw how efficient it really was, I've had Claude make an invoice for me, write my operations agreement, and help me with other things. Since I started using Claude, I use the other ones very little.
How are the demos and referrals going?
I've found that text is better than email for my business, so I need to stick to that - and in person is even better. The clarity map from the program maps out literally everything. Working through that helped me identify where I was spending my time. I was volunteering teaching Spanish classes, and I love that - but that's not going to make me money. I realized I really needed to stop doing that for now so I can actually build revenue, because I do still have to pay my bills. After I pitched and did three demos, I closed my first deal on Tuesday.
Have you been building structure into your week - prospecting days, client work days?
I haven't finalized my schedule, but I know I need at least one day per week where I get out of the house and talk to dealerships specifically. Julia mentioned that we hide behind learning. And I set an appointment to donate blood because I knew if I got out of the house to do that, I'd then be out and could go pitch dealerships. That's exactly what I did.
Do you feel more confident going after revenue - reaching out, following up, making the ask?
I do feel more confident. I feel like I have structure. I know what I'm asking for and I know how to ask for it.
Did you feel supported by the cohort and the community?
The cohort was so much better than learning on my own. The office hours were phenomenal because we could hear what other small business owners - completely different industries, completely different niches - are struggling with the same problems. It was really cool to see that we're all kind of in the same spot. Even businesses that have been in business for 10 years still sometimes struggle with follow-up or when to follow up. We got that one-on-one open time with women across the country.
What was your most impactful takeaway - the most valuable part of being in the cohort?
Having the clarity map to reference is going to be the most valuable. Every day looks different, every week looks different - the things I've accomplished, the decisions I've made. For me to be able to go back to the clarity map in six months or even a year and see what I've done, or the decisions I've changed or kept, is going to be really beneficial.
What does the future look like for your business?
I'm manifesting 20K in revenue before the end of the year.
